Richard Dawkins' "Out Campaign"

I think every Atheist has gone through their militant phase, that delightful period in which the budding apostate stalks Christians and shouts at innocent passers-by that God doesn't exist. Most of us manage to outgrow this and move into a state of being comfortable in our knowledge. We don't need to act like the jackasses to whom Louis alluded to in a previous post.

Some of us never grow. Richard Dawkins, who will one day occupy the circle of Hell Dante set aside for arrogant cockwhores, certainly hasn't. His newest assault (which, admittedly, is not terribly new; he unveiled this nonsense last year) on humanity's collective asshole is a campaign to bring Atheists "out of the closet". The slogan, which can be seen smeared across the chests of angsty teenagers like an AIDS-infested semen stain, is below:

Now, as an Atheist myself, I have no problem with people who recognize that in all likelihood God does not exist. What I do have a problem with is this oppression kick that people like Dawkins are actively encouraging. Notice the oh-so-clever use of a scarlet A in the word "campaign". That's right, kids; not only has Dawkins shamelessly stolen a silly idiom from the gay community, but he's also decided to pillage American literature to adequately express just how down-trodden the Atheists are. (It's curious that such a persecuted minority was able to push Dawkin's book to #2 on the Bestseller List. Huh.)

Grow the fuck up, Dr. Dawkins. No one is oppressing you. No one cares that you don't believe in God. No one is interested. Fuck off.

PS: In the event that Richard Dawkins reads this post, I'd also like to request a refund for The God Delusion. It sucked.
